The Chalk Freehouse offers complimentary Sunday roast for dogs in Chelsea until November

Tom Kerridge’s Chelsea gastropub, The Chalk Freehouse, is inviting dogs to enjoy their own Sunday roast every week until 1 November. The initiative, called The Dog’s Dinner, was launched on International Dog Day and offers a complimentary meal specially created for four-legged guests.

The Chalk Freehouse, already known as a dog-friendly pub where pets can join their owners, collaborated with Butternut Box, a fresh dog food company, to develop a safe, healthy, and tasty Sunday roast for dogs. The dish is based on Butternut Box’s Pork This Way recipe, which contains 60% human-quality pork alongside vegetables and lentils.

The pub’s kitchen team adds dog-friendly trimmings such as crushed carrot, roast potatoes, and a Yorkshire pudding to complete the meal. The dish is served in two portion sizes and is presented on the menu with playful wording to engage diners.

Head Chef Tom De Keyser said:

Sunday lunch is about bringing everyone together, and for many of our guests, that includes their dog. We wanted The Dog’s Dinner to have all the fun and theatre of a proper Chalk Freehouse Sunday roast, right down to the roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding.

In addition to the Sunday roast, Butternut Box provides The Chalk Freehouse with dog treats throughout the week for canine customers visiting on other days.

The Chalk Freehouse’s Sunday menu for humans features refined British pub dishes, including dry-aged ribeye of beef, Devonshire White chicken, Blythburgh pork loin chop, and a vegetable ragu, all served with classic accompaniments.

Located close to the King’s Road and Sloane Square, The Chalk Freehouse combines comfort food with elevated cooking styles associated with the Tom Kerridge Group.

The Dog’s Dinner is available every Sunday until 1 November and is complimentary for dogs dining with guests ordering from the Sunday menu. Reservations can be made directly with the pub.
